Mission Statement

To develop and promote policies, programs and strategies that are effective in reducing gambling harm internationally.

Aims of the Alliance

  1. The exchange of information amongst Alliance members and their associated networks relating to gambling harm, its prevention and treatment
  2. To provide mutual support to members as well as individuals and their organisations promoting gambling harm reduction strategies.
  3. To monitor the development of products and methodologies and assess their efficacy.
  4. To collectively advocate for improved national and international regulatory frameworks and community understanding.
  5. To develop and share effective public health strategies.
  6. Influencing research and development.

History

The International Alliance on Gambling Harm was established at the International Gambling Conference 2008 in Auckland February 2008. The Alliance comprises members from around the world who are working together to eliminate gambling harm. The core group is currently supported by a committee of advisors.
