Please note that individuals employed, either directly or indirectly, or representing the interests of the gambling industry are not eligible for membership in the Alliance.
Thank you for your interest in being part of The Gambling and Public Health Alliance International (the Alliance). Please complete and return the attached application form so that we can formally sign you up. Membership is free.
Joining the Alliance means that you will receive future editions of the electronic newsletter. We are currently planning four editions of the newsletter per year. All Alliance members are actively encouraged to contribute to this newsletter, either with short articles or very brief summaries of what is currently happening in their own province / state or country. A section of brief updates from around the world will be included in the newsletter from the second edition onwards.
It is anticipated that the newsletter will be the major tangible areas of Alliance activity in the coming months. Where articles or proposals developed through the Alliance are of use in local level gambling policy advocacy, then members are encouraged in such advocacy activity.
While the Alliance is a network, predominantly using the e-mail and the web, it is anticipated that over time Alliance members will be encouraged to meet at various conferences. The next conference where a meeting of Alliance members will be present is the New Zealand international conference scheduled for 24-26 February 2010 in Auckland, New Zealand.
The Alliance is managed by a small group of people who meet by telephone conference and is supported with secretariat functions by the Problem Gambling Foundation New Zealand. All Alliance members are actively encouraged to make suggestions about actions of projects that Alliance can take, by contacting the secretariat at PGFNZ.
Please return the form attached with your signature on bottom to the Secretariat:
